“Music education opens doors that help children pass from school into the world around them a world of work, culture, intellectual activity, and human involvement. The future of our nation depends on providing our children with a complete education that includes music.” (G. Ford)
Learning to read music and play an instrument is gift! The Beginning Recorder Class will introduce students to the wonderful world of instrumental music. The student will quickly discover the joy and satisfaction of playing beautiful music for themselves. The student will learn basic recorder playing technique as well as learning to read music.
The curriculum uses a scaffold approach to learn how to read music and how to play the recorder (each concept builds upon the next-like climbing a ladder). The emphasis/goal is to develop solid music reading skills, but definitely having a lot of fun playing while learning some great songs and recorder playing techniques.
It is expected that students practice for 10 minutes per day – 7 days a week!
PLEASE NOTE: This is a 60 minute class.
Registration deadline is December 15, 2020.
There must be a minimum of 5 students to run this class.
The maximum students in this class is 10 students.
