CIA: Behind the Scences - July 2020

Join us for a four-session look at the CIA (Central Intelligence Agency), the federal agency responsible for collecting, analyzing, prioritizing, and disseminating foreign intelligence, all in order to assist this country’s leadership in making decisions based on national security needs.

Together we will learn about the history of this agency, from its roots in the OSS during World War II, where agents worked behind enemy lines to gather intelligence – up to the present day, where the modern Agency uses both technical means and fieldwork at their disposal to both collect information on, and take action against, foreign threats to the safety and security of this country.

We will also explore the different roles within the Agency, both in terms of analysis and operations, how the Agency works as part of the overall intelligence gathering community within the US government to accomplish its goals, and also look at some famous stories in which they (may or may not have) taken part.

Session 1: July 7, 2020 – Background and History of the Bureau: From the early 1900’s to the present-day

Session 2:  July 14, 2020 – Job Roles at the FBI: A Wide Variety of Opportunities

Session 3: July 21, 2020 – Overall Role in the US Intelligence Community

Session 4: July 28, 2020 – Famous Stories

NOTE: Registration deadline is June 29, 2020.

There must be a minimum of FIVE students to run this class.
