Open Tent Academy
Open Tent Academy is an all-inclusive, virtual environment where homeschoolers (and “after-schoolers”) can take an array of classes, taught by instructors, who are experts in their fields.
In this class we are going to highlight the lives of important people during history. We will explore a brief biography of their life, the society and culture that shaped them and what contributions they made in their field. We will discuss how their lives would be different if they had been born in a different time and culture.
The first part of each class will be a biography of the person’s life via lecture, videos and recordings. The second part of the class will be an open discussion of what our thoughts about the person and what we can learn to implement in our own lives.
This class will be made up of readings, videos, PDFs and lecture.
A large part of the class will be discussions, in which no matter our personal feelings towards another human (teacher, classmate or the person being discussed), it is required to be respectful.
Registration deadline is March 15, 2021.
There must be a minimum of 5 students to run this class.
