The Lockheed Electra 'Flying Laboratory', piloted by American aviator Amelia Earhart (1898 - 1937) and Fred Noonan flies over the Golden Gate bridge in Oakland, California, at the start of a planned round-the-world flight, 17th March 1924. The trip had to be abandoned after the plane crashed on take off in Hawaii. A subsequent attempt ended when the aviators went missing in the Pacific and the pair were eventually presumed dead. Join us for a four-session look at the stories behind several amazing mysteries, all which took place on (or over) the open seas! We will look at each case, separate facts from fiction, and try our best to solve these perplexing mysteries!

Session 1: August 3, 2020 – Mystery of the Mary Celeste

Session 2:  August 10, 2020 – Mystery of the USS Cyclops (and her sister ships)

Session 3: August 17, 2020 – Mystery of Amelia Earhart’s Disappearance 

Session 4: August 24, 2020 – Mystery of Flight 19 

NOTE: Registration deadline is July 27, 2020.

There must be a minimum of FIVE students to run this class.
