LEGO Design: Building a Growth Mindset

This camp will help prepare students ages 7 – 10 for a new academic year by introducing them to the fundamentals of a growth mindset. Learning new things can be challenging and mindset matters! Understanding the differences between a growth and fixed mindset can help kids make the switch from “I’m bad at math (or reading, spelling, etc.)” to “I will work hard and know that my effort will pay off in time.” Together we will explore how challenges make our brains stronger, the powerful magic of mistakes, and the incredible power of… YET! Kids speak the language of play and interacting with LEGO bricks can help reinforce the development of a growth mindset. Classes will consist of group discussion and activities; homework will consist of original LEGO build assignments.

Supplies Needed:

Imagination and plenty of LEGO bricks! Two 10”x10” base plates are recommended, but not required. Parents may be asked to print out worksheets in advance of live classes.

Camp runs…
