Have your child unleash their inner mad scientist with this awesome and exciting class using basic materials from home! In this course, we will be utilizing parts of the scientific method to perform STEM-based experiments. Students will be introduced to STEM concepts in a way that integrates science, math and technology into engaging labs. This is a great option to compliment and/or extend the learning your child is doing at home!
Sometimes the best way to learn things is to actually do them! Students will enjoy the hands-on approach of this course that combines science, math and technology into fun experiments that challenge the mind at every turn. Building on the STEM foundation, we will learn how to apply science to everyday life, and we will have fun doing it! Most importantly, students will learn that with science you never stop questioning!
Please note this class is ONE HOUR.
Week 1-bowls, flour, sugar, colored sprinkles, salt, pepper
Week 2-bowl, milk, food coloring, dish soap, Q-tip
Week 3-water bottle, water, oil, food coloring, Alka Seltzer tablet
Week 4-large soda bottle, water, vinegar, dish soap, food coloring, baking soda
Registration deadline is December 15, 2020.
There must be a minimum of 5 students to run this class.
