“Fight for the things that you care about but do it in a way that will lead others to join you.” (RBG)
Her friends in Brooklyn called the shy girl, Kiki; however, today, she is known as the feminist legend and late Supreme Court Justice, Ruth Bader Ginsburg. In this class, we will learn about the extraordinary story of Ginsburg’s transformation from quiet, devoted student to legal trailblazer and outspoken civil rights icon.
Together, in this class, students will read, analyze, learn the history and envision themselves in RBG’s place. Additionally, students will keep an interactive notebook where they will journal their thoughts about various situations and events as well as record non-fiction information.
On average, students can expect approximately 2.5 hours of homework weekly.
Please note that students will be required to watch two films in addition to reading the novel and their homework:
- On the Basis of Sex – Rated PG13 (Available on Hulu Premium/Showtime)
